Today I came across this stunning Jude and Cardan piece by Gina Hilton (@darkandbeautifulart on Instagram and Tumblr!). Characters are from The Folk of the Air series by Holly Black (The Cruel Prince, The Wicked King, and the upcoming Queen of Nothing).
Aside from the striking perspective it brings, I think Gina’s done a fantastic job of using the knife to convey the complex and conflicted feelings these two have for each other! Jude and Cardan really do care for each other, yet due to politics, public image and bad history, they are constantly vying for the upper hand. Cue one and a half books’ worth of manipulation, trickery, heated glances and ‘will-they-won’t-they’. Spoiler alert: They will. (In case the art hasn’t given that away already!)
